Classic Trumpet

Name: Classic Trumpet
Brand: Tolo
SKU: 76125

The Classic Trumpet is a lightweight first instrument for children from twelve months. Held by the easy-grip handle, the child blows into the trumpet to make a toot and presses the buttons to hear three different sounds. Working out how to make each noise, and hearing words like press, blow and hold along the way, makes music-making a first lesson in cause and effect. At home it plays in the living room; in a nursery or classroom it is made for group play.

Playguide

How to play and learn

Written by Tolo for parents and early-years staff: what to do with the toy, and what the child is learning while doing it.

12 MONTHS +

1Initially, let your baby explore the toy and observe what happens. Does your baby discover how to make a sound?

2If not, give verbal hints, without directly demonstrating - and see if your child can figure it out..

3If your baby is struggling, demonstrate how to blow the trumpet to make a noise.

4Point out how you are holding the trumpet by the handle, enabling easy access to the sound-making parts. Encourage a tight grip.

5Encourage your baby to experiment with the sounds - with a lot of praise for success.

6Try to use lots of simple vocabulary like press, push, hold, blow - and encourage your baby to call the toy a trumpet.

7If the opportunity arises, point out pictures of real trumpets.
