• There are many features for your child to discover independently at first. Let him or her manually explore the toy, turning handles and lifting lids. 
• Demonstrate the function of any features possibly missed. 
• Show your child that the shape rattles match the shape slots on the box, and encourage your infant to 'post' the correct shape into its corresponding slot. 
• Encourage taking turns - show your child a shape and ask him or her to find the correct slot by spinning the lever or turning the handle to rotate the shape slots. 
• Talk often to your child as you play together - refer to the shapes by their colour and encourage colour matching and recognition. 
• Show your child the carrying handle and encourage lots of independent play.
• Use enthusiastic language with all your child's efforts - whether completely successful or not.  
• Show your child how to store the shapes in the box when finished.
